Tri-Valley scored five runs in the fifth inning - highlighting seven unanswered runs for the Vikings as they rallied past Clinton 7-5 in a Class 2A Regional quarterfinal high school baseball game in Downs.
Colton Walker started a four-run third for the Maroons with an RBI groundout. Jack Manning followed with an RBI double, then Josh Bass singled home Manning to put the Maroons up 3-0. Jaxson Reynolds reached on an error to bring home Clinton's final run of the frame.
The Vikings scored the game's next seven runs to go up 7-4, but Clinton tried to rally in the seventh.
Walker reached on an error to start the top of the seventh. Two batters later, Bass singled in Walker to make it 7-5. Reynolds followed with a single, but the last two batters struck out to end the game for Clinton.
Clinton finishes the season at 14-16.
Tri-Valley advances to take on top-seeded Monticello on Wednesday in a Regional semifinal in Forsyth.
