In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Clinton Maroons took advantage of turnovers, but it wasn’t enough, and they were defeated by the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals by a final score of 49-12.
The Maroons were led by Keaton Graves, who posted 78 passing yards and 51 rushing yards. He scored the team’s only rushing touchdown of the game. Jaeden Bell had 14 receiving yards and scored a touchdown. Zach Potts added 23 rushing yards while Marshawn Fitch contributed 18. Lucas Baker amassed 49 receiving yards on a single reception in the Maroons’ first drive. Spencer Collins added a takeaway and a blocked extra point on defense.
The Cardinals were led by Brennon Bonds, who scored five of the team’s seven touchdowns while posting 153 rushing yards and 37 receiving yards. QB Jayden Peck had 108 passing yards, while Joey Dominick received 70 yards. Drew Czajkowski contributed 7 receiving yards and a scoop-and-score in the third quarter.
In total, the game featured seven fumbles and two interceptions between the teams.
With the win, Warrensburg-Latham improves to 1-1 while Clinton falls to 0-2.
