HS FBall: Seneca Shuts Out Clinton

In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Maroons switched up their quarterback play, but it wasn't enough, and Clinton fell to the Seneca Fighting Irish by a final score of 50-0.

 

The Maroons were led by Josh Bass, who filled in for the quarterback position this week and put up 104 rushing yards and an interception. Keaton Graves was the primary receiver of the night and contributed 69 receiving yards and 14 rushing yards. Jaxon Reynolds and Lucas Baker added 18 and 13 receiving yards, respectively. 

 

The Maroons otherwise struggled in the run game, with Zach Potts posting 4 yards and Bass ending with a total of -12 rushing yards. 

 

Seneca was led by RB Cam Shriey, who boasted 174 rushing yards, highlighted by a 93 rushing touchdown. Quarterback Gunner Varland only completed two passes, both on two-point conversions. Otherwise, he went 0-1 on passing attempts, but contributed 80 rushing yards and a touchdown. Ethan Othan and Liam Knoebel also scored touchdowns. 

 

With the loss, Clinton falls to 0-3 while the Fighting Irish improve to 3-0. 

 

The Maroons will make the hour-long trip Southeast to take on Tuscola next week. Kickoff is set for 7 PM, and you can hear the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms.
