In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Maroons' defense kept the game tied through the first quarter, but couldn’t hold on long enough, and Clinton fell to the Tuscola Warriors by a final score of 39-0.
The Maroons’ defense performed well through the first quarter, keeping the score tied at zero through 12 minutes; however, they slid in the second quarter due to turnovers and two blocked punts, allowing 32 unanswered points.
After halftime, the Maroons put in much of the secondary and allowed the Warriors to put on one more score to make the score 39-0.
The Maroons struggled offensively, but were led by Josh Bass, who posted 6 passing yards and 9 rushing yards. Liam Wilson added eight rushing yards, all of which came in the second half. Keaton Graves picked up 4 receiving yards.
Tuscola was led by QB John Pettry, who scored two passing touchdowns, with 90 passing yards and 17 rushing yards. Senior RB Dylan Graves scored two rushing touchdowns with 72 yards while Evan Vearil posted 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
With the loss, the Maroons fall to 0-4 while Tuscola improves to 3-1.
