The Clinton Maroons were so beat up at Tuscola last Friday night, they turned to their JV squad in the second half.
Tuscola scored 32 points in the second quarter en route to a 39-0 win over the Maroons in Tuscola. Coach Ron Bass was very pleased with the way his young kid stepped up after a multitude of injuries impacted his team.
An onside kick in the second quarter was a real turning point in the Warriors' win and 32-point outburst. Despite being told to be ready for an onside kick, his team wasn't.
Coach Bass was disappointed in the week of practice by his team and is hoping this turns into a learning experience for a young team.
The road through the Heart of Central Illinois Conference doesn't get any easier this week when Clinton visits Eureka. Game time is 7 pm on Friday night. Hear all the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms.
