Despite a 41-13 loss to Bloomington Central Catholic on Friday night, Monticello football coach Cully Welter felt his team did a lot of positive things.
While he is very optimistic about the things his team is doing, he feels there are still a few little things showing up that they need to fix if they want to take the next step.
Monticello's offense is getting more efficient. The Sages rushed for over 100 yards again Friday night against a stingy Saints defense, but Coach Welter says they aren't quite where they want to be yet.
Coach Welter is optimistic the little things he's noticing can be fixed; however, it is week six, and a tough St. Joseph-Ogden football team awaits this Friday night.
The 3-2 Sages travel to St. Joe-Ogden Friday night. Game time is 7 pm. Hear the action on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com.
