A pair of Monticello volleyball seniors reached career milestones Thursday night in the Lady Sages' win over IVC in Illini Prairie Conference volleyball action.
Addison Finet reached 1,000 career assists in the first set of Thursday's match, and just a few plays later, Maddie Melton reached 1,000 career digs. Melton (right with athletic director Dan Sheehan) told the Hart Media Group after the game she has worked to become a more complete player.
Finet (right) echoed Melton's goal to be more consistent. Her all-around performance on Thursday helped the Lady Sages win a thriller over the Lady Grey Ghosts, and she credits the way they all play together.
The Lady Sages picked up their 8th straight win on Thursday, improving to 14-5 overall and 3-0 in the Illini Prairie Conference.
It's a big week ahead for Monticello, who travels to Tolono Unity on Tuesday and hosts Champaign St. Thomas More on Thursday.
