HS FBall: Mt. Zion Out to Prove Elite TE Not Only Piece in Its Success

Mt. Zion gets a lot of attention because of an elite playmaker on its offense, but the Braves are out to prove their team is more complete than just one player.

Coach Patrick Etherton led the Braves to an 8-1 campaign this year, it's only loss coming to a tough Rochester team in week 2. The veteran coach says his team has plenty of experience.

While JC Anderson gets a lot of attention for his commitment to Ole Miss next fall, the Braves are more than just their 6-6, 240 elite target.

For Coach Etherton, the run to the State finals last season gave his program a leg up coming into the season with all the extra practices. He feels that has paid off this season.

Mt. Zion hopes to return to the Class 5A state finals this November. The journey begins when the Braves host Waterloo on Friday night at 7 pm.
