The Clinton Maroons boys cross country team and girls runner, Aubrey Peterson, will be competing in Saturday's state cross country meet in Peoria.

Coach Rachel Anderson-Lyons is proud of the way her teams rose to the occasion last Saturday at a tough sectional in Elmwood that had multiple top ten teams in Class 1A running.

Coach Anderson-Lyons says Peterson carried a lot of momentum from the last few weeks into qualifying out of the Sectional for State as an individual.

The boys qualified on Saturday with a very balanced finish. Coach Anderson-Lyons notes only 18 seconds separated their highest finishing runner and their last runner.

In preparation for Saturday's State meet, Coach Anderson-Lyons indicates her team remains committed to each other, including one of her senior runners who is helping Peterson in her preparation.

The boys' runners and Peterson will compete Saturday at Detwiler Park in Peoria.
