HS GBBall: Clinton to Lean Into Experience, Strong Defensive Mindset for 2025-26 Season

The Clinton Lady Maroons basketball squad will look to build on last year's 25-8 finish to the season, with four key seniors returning from that team.

Coach Josh Williams says they have a great 1-2 punch between senior guards Clara Dempsey and Carly Anderson, who will be complemented by strong post play from the squad's other two seniors, Lilah Cluver and Avery Smith.

"Win the Battle" is the mindset that Coach Williams is instilling in his team. He wants the girls to focus on more than just winning the game; he wants them to control the court in all aspects.

As the Lady Maroons look to surpass the strong season they had last year, Coach Williams is focusing on the day-to-day development of his players. He says that the girls do a good job of self-reflection and of finding ways to get better.

The WHOW Winter Sports Broadcast schedule starts when the Lady Maroons open their season against at Eureka as they take on the Hornets at the Eureka Holiday Tournament. Hear the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms; tip-off is at 7:30 PM.
