Salt Fork outscored Monticello 23-11 in the second half and rallied to a 38-35 win in non-conference high school girls basketball action Tuesday night in Monticello.
The Lady Storm went on a 9-1 run to end the third quarter and take a 24-23 lead into the fourth quarter, and went up 27-2,3 but Sara Cresap hit back-to-back three pointers and an Annie Robinson layup made it 31-28 after a Salt Fork free throw.
But the Lady Storm battled back again - mostly at the foul line - and a Brayce Hird three-pointer tied the game at 32-32.
From there, Salt Fork closed out the win.
The Lady Sages shot just 6-of-14 from the charity stripe compared to 13-of-20 for Salt Fork.
Cresap led all scorers with 17 points. No other Monticello scorer had more than five. Cresap was the State Bank of Bement player of the game.
Salt Fork was led by Sailor Pacot's 12 points. Taylor Remole added 10 points, and Hird finished with nine points.
The Lady Storm starts its season 1-0.
Monticello is 0-2. They are at Shelbyville on Thursday.
