HS BBBall: Clinton Kicks Off Season Against Buffalo Tri-City

The Clinton Maroons boys basketball team will start what they hope will be their fourth consecutive winning season when they take on Buffalo Tri-City tonight at the Mt. Pulaski holiday tournament.

Head coach Vic Binkley says this team has eight players returning from last year's 18-10 squad, and notes this year they have a little more size.

Senior Brock Wilson feels they have a good team this year and describes them as scrappy. He says they will be fighting to win loose balls all year and will find any way to win.

Jaeden Bell is a sophomore who received a few starts late last season. He says the team worked very hard over the summer, and they are all focused on achieving the 20-win mark this year.

Coach Binkley says there are a lot of strong programs in the area, and they will have to work hard to fight through and win close games. He adds that this is just the start of what is hopefully years of good Maroon's basketball to come.

The Maroons kick off their season tonight in Mt. Pulaski when they take on Buffalo Tri-City. Hear all the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms. Tipoff is at 5 PM.
