The Monticello Lady Sages attempted 57 shots to the Lady Trojans 10 from the floor en route to a 37-25 win over Charleston on Monday night in non-conference high school girls basketball action in Monticello.

The two teams were tied at eight after the first quarter, but the Lady Sages rallied through the rest of the game to outscore their opponents 29-17.

Sarah Cresap led all scorers with 13 points and 4 rebounds. Anya Sheppard scored 11 and shot 83% from the foul line. Lexi Leatherwood added six points and 10 rebounds.

Charleston was led by Sadie Phillips who scored 11 points and was perfect on her three attempts from the field. Mickaylee Patton scored 10 and also went perfect in field goal attempts. 

With the win the Lady Sages move to 2-2 while the Lady Trojans fall to 0-4.

The girls will take the week off before going on the road to Urbana on Monday. Tip off is at 7 PM.
