HS GBBall: Clinton Falls to Tri-Valley

The Clinton Lady Maroons made a comeback effort, but were held off by the Tri-Valley Lady Vikings by a final score of 59-52 in non-conference high school girls basketball action on Monday night in Downs. 


Tri-Valley took control of the game early, making the score 24-17 after the first quarter, and 38-24 going into the half to hold the lead. Clinton fought back in the second half, outscoring the Lady Vikings 28-21, but fell short of taking the final lead. 


The Lady Maroons were led by Carly Anderson, who scored 17 points and made three from beyond the arc. Clara Dempsey added 10 points while Avery Smith had nine. 


With the loss, Clinton falls to 4-4 and suffers their second straight loss, while Tri-Valley improves to 7-1. 


The girls will return home to take on the Shelbyville Lady Rams on Thursday at 6:00 PM. Hear all the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms.
