HS BBBall: Maroa-Forsyth Takes Down Decatur St. Teresa

The Maroa-Forsyth Trojans dominated the first half and held off a comeback effort from the Decatur St. Teresa Bulldogs to take the 63-49 win in non-conference high school boys basketball action on Tuesday night in Cerro Gordo.

The Trojans held the Bulldogs to single digits in both the first and second quarters, making the score 33-9 going into the half.

St. T fought back, putting up 40 points in the second half to Maroa-Forsyth's 30, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

Maroa-Forsyth was led by Caebrin Lee, who scored 24 points and shot 6-for-7 from the foul line. Coby Lane added 18 points while Kannon Grubbs had eight.

With the win, Maroa-Forsyth improves to 2-1 while Decatur St. Teresa falls to 2-2.

The Trojans will play host to Central A&M in the Cerro Gordo Tournament on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
