In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Clinton Maroons went back and forth with the LeRoy Panthers, and took the 48-43 win in non-conference high school boys basketball action on Friday night in Clinton.
The two teams traded buckets throughout the game, with neither team ever leading by more than six.
With the score tied at 12-12 after the first quarter, the Maroons outscored their opponents 9-4 in the second quarter to take the 25-16 halftime lead. This would end up being the decision maker after both teams went on to score 27 points in the second half.
Clinton was led by Jaeden Bell, who scored 19 points, 12 of which came in the second half. Keaton Graves put up 16 points. Brock Wilson had six.
The Panthers were led by Brycen Umstattd with 12 points, while Sam Edmundson had 11 and Jordan Cox had 10.
With the win, Clinton improves to 10-4, while handing LeRoy its first loss of the season, putting them at 11-1.
The Maroons take on the Eureka Hornets tomorrow (Saturday) at 5:30 PM.
