HS GBBall: Clinton Rolls Tuscola

The Clinton Lady Maroons continued their win streak as they rolled to a 58-33 victory over the Tuscola Lady Warriors in Central Illinois Conference high school girls basketball action on Thursday night in Clinton. 

 

The Lady Maroons got ahead early, leading 23-9 after the first, and 37-13 at halftime. Clinton padded their lead to 53-20 in the third quarter before Coach Josh Williams cleared the bench for the fourth. 

 

Clara Dempsey and Carly Anderson led all scorers with 17 points apiece for Clinton. Lilah Cluver added 13 points—five players combined for seven Maroons buckets from beyond the arc. 

 

Tuscola was led by Reese Davis with 11 points. Ava Kleiss added 9. 

 

The victory is the Lady Maroon's 13th in a row. They improve to 17-4 and 3-0 in the CIC, while Tuscola falls to 5-14 and 2-1 in conference play. 

 

The Lady Maroons will travel down US HWY 51 on Wednesday to take on the Maroa-Forsyth Lady Trojans. Tipoff is at 7:00 PM.
