In a game heard on WEZC and at dewittdailynews.com, Nathan Southern scored 28 points, and four players scored in double figures as Warrensburg-Latham overwhelmed Monticello in a 78-50 rout Saturday afternoon in non-conference high school boys basketball action in Warrensburg.
Southern hit nine three-pointers and had a four-point play. The Cardinals, who led 49-38 after three quarters, hit seven three-pointers in the final frame, and the 30-point running clock activated with just under two minutes left.
Eastyn McKenzie added 14 points for the Cardinals. Drewe Czajkowski added 11 points, and Alex Hardin finished with ten points.
One of the few bright spots for the Sages was Nolan Buehnerkemper, who finished with 23 points. He was the State Bank of Bement player of the game.
The Cardinals improve to 20-3 overall.
