In a game heard on WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, Monticello made just one three-point attempt, and Pontiac pulled away for a 66-48 win in Illini Prairie Conference high school boys basketball Tuesday night in Monticello.
The Sages struggled from the get-go and never got any momentum going, making just one of their 19 three-point attempts.
The Indians made nine three-pointers, led by Evan Wolf's six, and finished with 18 points. Amazin King had 18 points for Pontiac as well. Anderon Horning and Cayden Masching each scored ten points.
Matthias Rudolp and Jake Motsegood each had 12 to lead Monticello. Nolan Buehnerkemper had nine points and nine rebounds for the Sages. Buehnerkemper was the State Bank of Bement player of the game.
Aden Brummel had a game-high 14 rebounds for Pontiac, who outrebounded Monticello 42-30.
Pontiac goes to 17-5 overall and 6-0 in the Illini Prairie Conference.
