HS GBBall: Clinton Defeats Central A&M

The Clinton Lady Maroons continue their reign over the Central Illinois Conference, as they took down the Central A&M Lady Raiders by a final score of 77-37 on Thursday night in Clinton. 

 

The Lady Maroons came out strong, building a 27-7 lead after the first quarter. Central A&M held on in the second quarter for the 42-20 deficit going into the half. From there, Clinton turned the heat back up and made it 61 to 30 after the third. 

 

Clinton was led by Carly Anderson, who scored 20 points. Lilah Cluver had 17, while Avery Smith had 14. Clara Dempsey added 11 points. No Maroons scorer had fewer than seven, and the team made seven threes. 

 

Kylee Snearly led all scorers with 21 points for the Lady Raiders. Callie Robertson had seven. 

 

With the win, Clinton improves to 24-4 and 5-0 in the CIC. They have won 20 games in a row. Central A&M falls to 4-20 and 0-4 in conference play. 

 

The Lady Maroons will host the Mt. Pulaski Lady Hilltoppers on Monday. Tipoff is at 7:30 PM. Hear all the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms.
