The Monticello Lady Sages used a big second quarter to take down the Williamsville Lady Bullets by a final score of 40-32 in non-conference high school girls basketball action on Tuesday night in Monticello. 

The two teams were tied at nine after the first quarter, but in the second, the Lady Sages outscored Williamsville by seven points to take the 24-17 lead at halftime. 

The Lady Bullets made it a two-possession game by the end of the third, trailing 29-23, but did not get any closer. 

Ali Weidner paced Monticello with 11 points and six rebounds. Sarah Cresap had 10 points.  

With the win, Monticello improves to 16-14 while Williamsville falls to 11-14. 

The Lady Sages will travel to Danville on Thursday night. Tipoff is at 7 PM.
