HS Softball: Monticello Blanks Mt. Zion

Thea Key drove in two with a base hit in the bottom of the fifth inning, and Monticello walked off with a 10-0, run-rule win over Mt. Zion in non-conference high school softball action on Monday in Monticello.

Key's walk-off hit capped a five-run inning for the Lady Sages. Isabella Beery hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning and drove in a team-best three runs for the game. 

Ali Weidner was 2-for-3 with two runs batted in, while Key was 2-for-3 with a double. Cassidee Stoffel finished 3-for-3 with three doubles and was the winning pitcher for Monticello.

Stoffel twirled five shutout innings with four strikeouts, three walks, and permitted just one hit.
