Mayson Aslinger was a double short of the cycle, helping Normal West down Metamora 9-1 in non-conference high school baseball action on Tuesday in Normal.

Aslinger homered, tripled, and drove in two for the Wildcats, who steadily pulled away from the Redbirds throughout the game.

Sam McCully finished 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

Jasper Pomis struck out eight in 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball to earn the win for Normal West.

Normal West goes to 6-4 overall. They will host Champaign Centennial on Wednesday to open Big 12 Conference action.
