HS Softball: Argenta-Oreana Outlasts Blue Ridge

The top of the Argenta-Oreana lineup combined to drive in six runs on six hits and led the Lady Bombers to a 12-5 win over Blue Ridge in Lincoln Prairie Conference high school softball action on Monday in Farmer City.

Elyssa Armstrong finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and scored three runs at the top of the Lady Bombers order. Pyper Jones was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and scored three times in the second spot, while Addison Maiden finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs in the three spot. 

Sophia Wicklund added an RBI for the Lady Bombers. 

Karlee Fenton was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead Blue Ridge. Addison Roos was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Olivia Jones surrendered eight runs, but only one was earned, in six innings in circle for the Lady Knights. 

Armstrong struck out nine in seven complete innings. She allowed five runs, four were earned, on eight hits and issued two walks.

Blue Ridge goes to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in the Lincoln Prairie Conference. They visit Salt Fork on Wednesday.

Argenta-Oreana is 9-7 overall and 3-0 in the Lincoln Prairie Conference. They host Heyworth on Tuesday.
