Kellen Bollhorst scored Evan Howley in the bottom of the 13th inning, sending Mt. Zion to a 1-0, 13-inning marathon win in non-conference high school baseball from Mt. Zion High School.

Howley walked with one out in the bottom of the 13th. He stole second, and Bollhorst delivered with two outs. 

Both teams combined to strike out 38 times.

Connor Fox and Ty Bachman went toe-to-toe to start the game. Bachman fired six shutout innings for the Wildcats with ten strikeouts, while Fox went seven shutout innings with ten strikeouts for the Braves. 

Peyton Delgado went five shutout innings in relief of Fox with six strikeouts. 

Mt. Zion goes to 17-11 overall while Normal West drops to 20-13. 

Normal West will play in a round robin tournament in Champaign this weekend.
