Aaron Volle's single and Ridgeview miscues scored Luke Martin in the bottom of the ninth inning, and Mt. Pulaski walked off a 3-2 nine-inning, Class 1A Regional semifinal classic on Wednesday evening at Veteran's Park in Mt. Pulaski.

With two outs, Martin walked. Volle singled to center field. Martin advanced to third on a throwing error, and another error scored Martin as the Hilltoppers poured out of the dugout to celebrate escaping a Regional semifinal marathon.

Volle was 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI for Mt. Pulaski. Jaeden Jackson was 1-for-4 with the other Hilltoppers' run batted in.

Carter Clark went four innings of one-run ball - the run was unearned - on two hits with six strikeouts and a walk.

Mt. Pulaski is 20-11 overall. They await the winner of Thursday's Regional semifinal between Heyworth and Springfield Lutheran on Saturday morning for a Regional championship.
