Elyssa Armstrong allowed an unearned run and went the distance in circle, leading Argenta-Oreana to a 2-1 win over Monticello in non-conference high school softball action on Monday in Argenta.

Armstrong outdueled Madison Highland for Monticello. Highland went four innings of two-run ball, one was earned.

Armstrong struck out three and allowed seven hits. 

The only Lady Sages run was scored in the sixth inning when Ali Weidner scored Emma Lawhead with a double.

Sadie Walsh was 2-for-4 for Monticello. 

Monticello falls to 3-2 overall. They host Tuscola on Tuesday.
