Lawrence Simms, 19, Peoria, was issued Citations for Speeding (100 MPH in a 55 MPH zone) and Operate Uninsured MTR Vehicle.
Matthew Leach, 36, Clinton, was issued a Citation for Speeding (78 MPH in a 55 MPH zone).  Leach was released with no Required Court Appearance.
William Huffman, 48, Decatur, was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass to Residence.
Jamilynn Hill, 23, Lincoln, was issued a Citation for Speeding (69 MPH in a 55 MPH zone).  Hill was released with no Required Court Appearance.
Investigation into the scene of an accident which occurred at 21:53 on 08/08/26 revealed that Sheryl Zbinden, 76, Clinton, was traveling east bound on IL-10 for a significant amount of time in the west bound lane.  During this time, oncoming traffic had to swerve to miss hitting Zbinden.  Corey Shannon, 40, was traveling west bound on IL-10 near the intersection of Lane Street, when the driver observed a vehicle driving towards him in the wrong lane.  The driver stated he slowed down and came to a complete stop in the roadway at the intersection of IL-10 and Overlook Point Road.  Zbinden struck Shannon head on causing significant damage to both vehicles.  Zbinden had total front end damage and fluids leaking on the ground, with air bag deployment.  Zbinden’s seatbelt was locked back on the side of the seat, indicating the Zbinden had not been wearing a seatbelt during the incident.  Zbiden’s vehicle was towed from the scene.  Shannon’s vehicle had disabling damages to the front end such as the bumper, grill and unknown motor/undercarriage damages.  Shannon’s vehicle was able to be driven safely the reminder of the way home.  Zbinden was issued a Citation for Operating Uninsured Vehicle.  Zbinden was released with a Required Court Appearance.
