A Piatt County school district has decided to ease its students into starting the year.
DeLand-Weldon Schools Superintendent, Dr. Michael Tresnak, indicates that students return on Friday, August 21st, which is an early dismissal day. He says the purpose is to create a basis to leap off of with full steam as they kick off the following week on Monday.
Staff are back in the building on the 19th. We'll have more with Dr. Tresnak in the days ahead on the start of school, and an update on the storm damage the district suffered last April. In the meantime learn more at dwschools.org or by finding them on Facebook.
