July Weather Outlook

After a very hot Fourth of July holiday weekend, outlooks are showing a more seasonal stretch of weather.

Ed Shimon at the National Weather Service in Lincoln indicates that while the intense heat waves of late June have broken, the official July outlook shows equal chances of above- or below-normal temperatures and precipitation across most of Illinois and the Great Lakes region.

According to Shimon, the recent rainfall has successfully replenished local soil profiles, effectively eliminating short-term drought concerns for the immediate future.

We'll have more with Shimon on what was a very wet and stormy June later this week on Regional Radio.
