When Halley Roberson takes the reins as the City Manager for the City of Farmer City on Aug. 1, she will be starting when a lot is happening in the community.

On the WHOW Morning Show with outgoing City Manager Taylor Baxter, Roberson told the Hart Media Group there is a lot to market for their small community in DeWitt County.

According to Roberson, one major benefit that folks might eventually find in Farmer City is that they source their own electricity for its residents. With AI and data centers becoming big business, she feels the reliability of their town's electricity is going to appeal to a lot of people.

Additionally, Roberson feels Farmer City offers a very unique educational experience for families, being that it is a smaller school where students can try an assortment of things during their academic careers.

Roberson calls being rural a true community experience. She feels it is what makes rural living unique to the experience in a bigger, metropolitan area.
