The Clinton City Council has named Sue Whitted the new Commissioner of Finance, replacing the unfinished term of Tom Edmunds, who passed away in July.
Mayor Helen Michelassi told the Hart Media Group that Whitted brings a great deal of knowledge about finance, local government, and business to the Council.
According to the Mayor, Whitted's community involvement stood out among the people the Council talked to. While not a prerequisite for getting the post, the Mayor points out that many individuals have made their intentions known that they wish to run for the Commissioner's seat when the election comes around next spring.
Whitted will be sworn on to the Council at its meeting next Tuesday night.
