Normal West erupted for nine runs in the first inning, rolling to an easy 16-3 win over Shades Valley (AL) in non-conference high school baseball action on Tuesday in Alabama.

The Wildcats picked up its third win of their annual spring break trip to the Gulf Shores.

Jack Steidenger had four RBIs to lead Normal West. Ty Bachman was 3-for-3 with a double, two triples, and two RBIs. Sam McCully doubled and drove in two. 

Three Wildcat pitchers combined to strike out nine and allow just one hit.

Normal West finishes up the action in Alabama tomorrow night (WED) at 7 pm opposite Bayside Academy.
