HS Baseball: Mt Pulask Walks Off Athens to Clinch Tomahawk Conference Championship

Chase Roberts singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning and Mt. Pulaski walked off Athens 4-3 in Tomahawk Conference action on Wednesday, clinching the outright conference championship for the Hilltoppers in Mt. Pulaski.

Skyler Durst singled to start the inning. A sacrifice moved him to second. After the second out, Roberts brought Durst home to secure the Hilltoppers 14th victory of the season.

Luke Martin pitched into the sixth inning for Mt Pulaski, allowing two runs on five hits, issuing six walks, and striking out eight. Roberts struck out six in 3 1/3 innings of relief for the win for Mt. Pulaski.

Roberts was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two walks to lead Mt. Pulaski.

The Hilltoppers are 14-7 overall. They visit Pawnee on Saturday.
